How To Spot Emotional Manipulation

I have been thinking about this topic for the past week. We have all been there when someone tries to manipulate us, using facts that we don’t like. It’s even worse when someone, who was your friend, does it against your will.

How To Spot Emotional Manipulation

  1. They will use your words against you.

Be aware that they will know what gets under your skin. They will know because, chances are, you have told them, without thinking about it.
They will do something that hurts you and then they will use your words to turn the situation comfortable for them. They will try to make you feel guilty for your accusation.
  2. It’s not their fault.

It’s never their fault. If something goes wrong, someone else was responsible for it. Look out for those kind of people.
  3. They project their insecurities on you.

These manipulators will try to make sure you can relate with them. They will use their weak spots on you. Do not get fooled if somebody tries to tell you something to make you feel bad about yourself. Only you can know what’s good and what’s bad for you.
  4. They tend to deny what they said.

They will try to tell you that they didn’t promise you anything. It’s as if their memory just went blank for that moment. In this case, you will need an evidence (sms, chat message, or even voice recording).
  5. They rise their voice.

This is the kind of manipulation I pity the most. Why you need to rise your voice to prove a point? Calm down, take a deep breath and explain what’s in your mind. Don’t yell. Nobody has proved anything with rising their voice.
  6. They try to humilate you.

I have no idea if that’s what brings them joy, but they like to remind you of that one stupid thing you did 5 years ago when you’re with your other friends or in front of a big crowd. In my opinion, that just reaches new level of low.
  7.   They want to control you.

They want you to know that they’re the boss in your relationship. They will make sure their ideas are the main ones and your ideas are wrong. They want things to happen in their way that happens to be the right way.

I think that the worst part is that they don’t want to change their ways. Be aware of these kind of people and don’t be afraid to call them out.

Earth Hour

Today, 25th of March, is the Earth Hour! Don’t forget to turn down your lights for one hour. It’s also possible to visit some local events, dedicated to this special hour. Don’t miss them.

Earth Hour is a worldwide movement organized by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF). The event is held annually encouraging individuals, communities, households and businesses to turn off their non-essential lights for one hour, from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m. towards the end of March, as a symbol for their commitment to the planet.

Be friends with routine!

I remember how I was scared of routine. Doing the same things day by day scared me. Little did I know that those movements help your body be in a rhythm.

Routine helps you overcome depression and feeling out of place. It helps putting your daily life in structure. It helps you plan your days. You don’t have to live in the unknown.

Reasons why routine is important:

1.You can create your own To-Do List

Checking things off a list never felt this good before. No, really, try it. It’s as if you’re proving yourself that you’re capable of anything!

2.You will be in rhythm!

And your health will be thankful to you. Daily routine takes away the stress from the unknown. You don’t have to run around, thinking what will happen and when will it happen, if you’re in routine.

3. Say goodbye to bad habits

Routine leaves no time for bad habits. It’s that simple. Following daily tasks, you will notice that you won’t have free time for habits that weren’t good for you. You will be your own priority.

4. Relax time gets more amazing!

It really does. After a hard day of working, you’ll feel in heaven when you leave your work for home. Also, you’ll find that the time you spend doing what you like will feel 10 times better!

5. What is procrastination?

It’s in the past! Since you won’t have much free time, you have to plan your free time! And tasks, that are burning, need to be done in time! No more blank space in your planner. No more space to use for your lazyness.

6. Good night sleep!

According to the National Sleep Foundation, going to bed at the same time every night, and waking up at the same time each morning  can help regulate the body’s internal clock.

Get ready to feel fresh and good at 8 AM!!

So, what are you waiting for? Be friends with routine! It can be a good thing!

London Book Fair 2018 – Latvia as Guest of Honor

In 2018, Latvia will take a part in London Book Fair with national literature and Latvia’s best selling books. Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia will accept the title Guest of Honor from Poland.

Latvian authors will go with the slogan #IAMINTROVERT.

The campaign includes several activities, one of them being a series of video-stories exploring how the world looks through the eyes of an introvert. These video-stories will feature the Latvian writers attending this year’s London Book Fair – prose writers Gundega Repše, Nora Ikstena, Osvalds Zebris, Pauls Bankovskis and poets Semjons Haņins, Artis Ostups, Arvis Viguls, Madara Gruntmane.

“The world is the perfect place for extroverts. For the kind of people that know how to start a relaxed conversation with a stranger, perform in front of an audience, say something kind about themselves, or hug someone for no reason at all. But we are different. Latvians can feel deeply confused when kissed on both cheeks. Or when suddenly talked to on public transport. Should you compliment a Latvian, they will turn red-white-red. Latvia is one of the world’s most introvert nations. And so are our writers, of course. And we are proud of it. We allow our books speak for us since literature is the perfect world for introverts.”

Learn to be wrong

You’re wrong.

Yes, you heard me, you’re wrong. Don’t look at me with that confused look. Don’t look at me with your large eyes. You’re wrong. It’s hard to admit it. You don’t want to be that person because who wants to be wrong? Nobody.

But sometimes you have to admit that you’re wrong.

Maybe the person you identify as “easy-going” is a hard working person who doesn’t leave the room until they are done with their main tasks? Maybe the person who looks like he work hard, is just drinking coffee while people, lower his rank, do all the work for him?

You never know. There is no right anwer. Learn to be wrong. Learn to admit that you’re wrong. It’s not bad to be wrong. It gives you a chance to learn and find different truths.

The Law of Attraction and Manifestation

I have been going through YouTube videos that teach you how everything is possible in this world.

You have to make a wish. You have to write it down and not tell anyone. You need to put out the energy of what you want. You have to think about that in details.

Give out positive, loving energy! It’s a “give and take” with universe and “give and take” with people!

Take your time to understand yourself. Find your self-love. Practice and put effort over not beating yourself up on little things. Stop comparing yourself to others and embrace yourself! Be amazing for yourself!

Stop putting out blocks if you want something! Stop saying “I can’t have this because…”!

How can the universe give you what you want if your hands are in your pockets? You need to believe in yourself 100 000%!!!!

Life is magic and wonderful. Don’t waste your energy on negative things!

Life is special. World is special. Enjoy every day! Live with open mind!
